It seems there is still a mystique about a female getting a race or bike licence, taking part in cross country road rally or simply embracing the joy of ownership and using their transportation of choice to its fullest potential.

More and more women are purchasing Supercars or Motorbikes and enjoying their performance therein – however, nobody seems to want to actively talk to or engage with our fellow BHP loving friends. In a showroom of luxury motorcars, the sales people can’t quite bring themselves to make eye contact or show you anything other than the boot for its capacity to hold supermarket shopping or demonstrate how low the seat on the motorbike is.

Conversely, we want it to be OK for Women to swop tips and tricks about gear ratios, the pros and cons of styles of race suits or leathers, as well as discussing what mascara to use for long distance races to avoid looking like a panda on the podium.

In an attempt to address these issues, the ‘Sisterhood Of Speed’ has been created.

A global community of like minded ladies, combining the fashion pages of Vogue, with the race reviews of Autosport / MCN, and artistic approach of Octane for two and four wheels.

About The Founder, Caroline Hobbs-Sabourin

Caroline is the proud Founder of the new high profile 'Sisterhood Of Speed'.   She is an accomplished Freelance Commercial Director and Motor Sport Event Consultant with over 20 years of experience, specializing in Sponsorship, Marketing & Event Organisation.

Her childhood was spent in Formula One alongside the Tyrrell Team during the Six Wheeler era, and she has gone on to build a very successful career in this male-dominated and highly competitive arena.

Dubbed by others as ‘Mrs Motorsport’, Caroline made her name as the Series Co-Ordinator of the Can-Am International Supersports Cup Series organising eight Global Championship Races per year over a seven year period, including two support races for the Australian & Canadian Formula One Grand Prix.

Working as Commercial Director of The Silverstone Classic since 2010, Caroline signed and activated numerous high profile multi-year agreements for key brands at this, the world's biggest classic racing and rock festival.

Having conceived the notion of The Sisterhood Of Speed, Caroline soon realised from the reaction of others that this was to be a full time project and the logical next step in her career.

She is a passionate Motorcyclist who enjoys Shooting, Sailing and Skiing.

Caroline is also pretty handy behind the wheel, primarily campaigning a Porsche 550 Spyder.

Journalist & Commentator

Caroline is a good friend who I have had the pleasure of working with since - as a teenager - she masterminded the logistics for mutual friends who ran the world-renowned International SuperSports Cup racing series when I was competing in it and reporting events around the world in the early 1990s.

For the past nine years Caroline has been instrumental in delivering the massive Silverstone Classic event as commercial director but is now taking the bold step of going it alone. She is a total petrolhead who has always immersed herself in motor sport and motoring, so it will work.

A PR professional with an enormous book of contacts, Caroline's reputation in the sporting and commercial worlds speaks for itself, thus it is no surprise that her new venture, Sisterhood of Speed [SOS] - a lifestyle sorority for women who love cars, motorsport, fashion and on-trend products - is gaining a lot of traction pre-launch on August 1.

The time it right to put SOS in the public domain, indeed BMW GB recognises its potential and agreed to support her with the loan of top of the range car for SOS' inaugural charity driving event for SSAFA. Engaging, indomitable and media savvy, Caroline has generated major coverage for previous projects, and in these days of empowerment and equality promises to be a big talking point nationally and internationally and will grow exponentially.
